Tenants who, rightly or wrongly, may be dissatisfied with management of their block or with their landlords now have a statutory right to form a ‘Right to Manage‘ (RTM) company in order for that company to exercise a right to take over management of their block.
Determining whether the block and/or tenants qualify to exercise the right is fraught with technicalities but Abacus can assist both tenants and landlords with the processes involved either in setting up the RTM company and exercising the right or in assessing whether there are grounds for a counter claim to prevent the RTM taking place.
We can also assist with the after the event such as who has the right to insure, who can give consent for licences and who can forfeit. See our helpful flowchart which sets out the process involved.
It is important to seek specialist advice at the outset so please don’t hesitate to contact us using the enquiry form above or by e-mailing disputes@abacus-law.co.uk or calling us on 0161 833 0044.
