A hoarder who has filled his flat with thousands of newspapers, magazines and books is facing eviction because he is a ‘fire hazard.’
Former salesman, Brian Clenshaw is facing eviction by his landlord in Kent because the clutter he is hoarding presents a ‘fire-hazard.’
Brian believes he suffers from a disorder called Obsessive Hoarding Syndrome, which means he cannot throw anything away, and that his obsession became out of control after suffering a road traffic accident.
As a last-resort, his landlord took Court action to have him removed from the premises and has been granted a ruling by Tunbridge Wells County Court to order Brian to leave because of the risk he poses.
A spokesperson for the Landlord said ‘We understand from the council that emergency accommodation is available for Brian.’
